Friday Faves - Bohippy

The boho in me usually comes out on the weekends. Actually, I like to think of it as something between Bohemian and Hippy...It's BOHIPPY! I like to put the stuffiness from the work week aside and let loose. Here's what I mean...

Quill feather rug
Friendly convo starter necklace

Lightweight floral scarfie

Peace!

A Work of Art

Christian Louboutin's new ad campaign is more like a masterpiece. Peter Lippmann is the photographer {and artist} behind this scheme. Between this 17th century-looking art and these crazy heels, these images below deserve to be framed and mounted in a museum!

Not Your Usual Cup of Tea

Ever had a little craving that somehow turns into a daily craving, and more addicting as the days go by? Well I officially need an intervention. I love love love Chai Tea Lattes. I want one every day but hold myself back because it could turn ugly. And it's not just Chai Tea. I'm starting to like all sorts of teas. Recently at the mall, I had to stop and have a cup of Earl Grey...who does that in Miami?!

But there's only one thing better than tea...TEA INSPIRED DECOR! I've come across so many cute tea ideas that I just had to share.

If I had my own tea shop, I'd sport these! It gives "tea light" a whole new meaning. And the tea bag tag acts as the pull switch!

And maybe these too!
An opteacal illusion!Surgeon General Warning: Tea causes smiles, hyperactivity, and may complicate the ability to focus on meeting deadlines. It can lead to addiction so drink at your own risk and use precaution.

I <3 MBG

As a rookie to the blogging world, I first felt a tad overwhelmed with all of the choices. I had no idea there were so many blogs out there! But still to this day, I keep comparing all the new ones I find to Made By Girl. She truly is my source for the best eye candy. Jennifer Ramos features the best info on just about everything that's just plain ol' amazing. The best part: She has her own etsy shop selling fun prints and cards that she designed herself! See some samples below. Which one do I order!?

This one is my favorite.
Or maybe I should get this one?
Or, this one?

Or this cute card set? Help!

Classy Cocoon

Karl Lagerfeld is a genius! He has chosen Lily Allen to model for his new handbag line for Chanel! I never knew Lily would fit this role so well. Wearing a diamond tiara, dark shades, and a catsuit, Lily looks adorable sporting the new Coco Cocoon collection. (P.S. Karl took these photos himself!)

The Coco Cocoon collection is a puffy, sportier version of Chanel's classic tote. The line debuts this October and I'm so excited to...um...see it in a store window... :(

Domino, The Dearly Departed

Domino, a stylish home décor magazine that I subscribed to, died in March. I was a little depressed when I got the death notice in the mail. I never had a magazine die on me before. Just so sudden and unexpected. They were forced to fold due to this crappy economy. Instead, I will be receiving Vogue, but that won’t fill my void. Domino featured beautiful interiors and landscapes and offered tips and budget-friendly options. Such a tragedy…

And as an expression for my sincerest condolences, I subscribed to 2 other magazines that are still alive and well: Elle Décor for 1 year and House Beautiful for 2 years. They are offering a $5 discount special on Amazon today and both subscriptions came out to just $19.95! I can’t wait! Just look at these covers…I’m hooked already!

Hungry Girl!

Now that I'm left to fend for myself until August 2nd when my parents return from their vacay, I'm trying to get inspired to cook. Cooking has never really been my thing. I remember taking a cooking class one Summer, but I just considered it another opportunity to play with my food. Now that I'm getting older and my metabolism is getting slower, cooking my own food in my own way should be a top priority. I lost my first 10 lbs. on Weight Watchers in 2007 (and have yet to gain them back by the way) and I owe it mostly to Hungry-Girl. Her team creates the yummiest recipes and gives you the WW points per portion for each meal. My favorite part is when she compares a famous high-caloric meal to her own version of it.

Here is one recipe I tried out last night. Super easy, just 5 points, and most importantly, made my boyfriend say "YUM!" (It looked just like this picture--I swear!)

Now you see them...Now you DON'T!

I wouldn't mind living in a haunted house if it meant I can have these ghostly items. They are the ever-so-fabulous Louis Ghost Chairs created by French superstar designer Philippe Starck, who also designed the incredible Viceroy Miami Spa. Lately, I've been really into the clear glass/acetate/plastic look for furniture, glassware, lamps, etc. My little obsession for this has grown into a nightly search for the nicest clear items I can find. I understand this may be just a fad that will disappear in a snap of a finger, but for now it keeps me entertained.

My Own Miami Vice

I had such a good time, I haven't stopped thinking about it! Viceroy Miami (or Icon at Brickell's residences) is Miami's very own Disney World, in my opinion. We took advantage of Miami Spa Month's specials and booked Canvas Massages at Viceroy. Ok, I'll admit it...my real purpose for booking the Viceroy is that ginormous yellow chandelier I've been obsessing over!

From the lobby to the pool, spa, game room, poolside cafe, everything was UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING! It's a little bit of Hollywood Glamour mixed with Mod Baroque sprinkled with weird & quirky. There was not one thing I saw where I wasn't stimulated or amused by its beauty. And no matter how much I try to describe it to you, it still wouldn't mean a thing until you see it for yourself. So I did some research on the designer, Kelly Wearstler, and she is my new favorite icon (no pun intended). She worked with one of my favorite product designers, Philippe Starck, who I will devote a separate post to later because he deserves it THAT much.

In the meantime, I leave you with some of my Spa ratings and photos to make you swoon. Please go visit, PLEASE! You won't be disappointed. Ratings based on 1 (poor) to 5 (fab).

Spa amenities: 4 (cold/hot pools were beautiful)
Therapist: 2.5 (I've had better)
Robe: 2 (No plushness and it was short!)
Slippers: 5 (They were Havaianas!)
Locker Room: 5 (Gorgeous and full of great freebies)
Temperature: 1 (A/C wasn't working and it was HOT)
Music: 5 (Not the typical ambient crap. It was good, soothing coffee bar music)

Infinity Pool overlooking Brickell Key

Random pig, rooster and bunny lamps

Huge flower pots
Theater Room with plush velvet blue couches
This is what makes my dreams sweet! Over 5000 parts to this chandelier!
