All Tied Up

Just as much as the bow adds the finishing touch to a gift, it also adds that same touch to an outfit. I've been spotting Bow Belts all over the place lately and now I've just added it to my 'Dear Santa' letter. It's a feminine little extra that is cute and fun when put together the right way.

Here are just a few Bow Belts I've run into on the interwebs, but just keep a lookout at stores for more. The one I heart is actually from Tarjay!

Thankful

I have A LOT to be thankful for this year. Sometimes I forget to show gratitude for all I have, but times like these make me stop in my tracks and remember what's really important.

I'm thankful for {my husband} {my family} {my nephew} {my friends} {my home} {my pup} {my job} {my health} and finally I'm thankful for {making it to another Thanksgiving as a very happy girl}

Pretty Little Corner

I have this awkward little corner by the stairs that has been haunting me since I moved in. It's a weird shape and size, and I had no idea what to put there. I pictured a big plant there but those can be expensive, and a bench would be weird because who would sit in a corner like that? Then I ran into this little number at HomeGoods!

Z Gallerie's version is bigger but $700.

Home Decorators version is more affordable at $370, but my find was less than half this price!

Please pardon this quick styling. I plan on adding real flowers in that vase, I swear! And I still think this little spot is missing something. Also, the knobs will soon be replaced with some like these from Home Depot. SO MUCH BETTER!

Turkey's Tasty Companion

Tomorrow is our company's annual Thanksgiving Potluck, lunch where each department is assigned a type of food and we all pitch in on the yumminess. With "hot sides" as our assignment, I quickly agreed to make Twice-Baked Potatoes. I made them last year too, and they flew off the serving plate! Although they're really easy to make, they take a long-ish time so it's not something I would make on a regular basis. But for Turkey Day, why not?!

Twice-Baked Potatoes with Bacon

  • 4 baking potatoes (2-1/2 lb.)
  • 1/2 cup milk 4 oz. (1/2 of 8-oz. pkg.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, cubed
  • 4 slices OSCAR MAYER Bacon, crisply cooked, crumbled

    1. HEAT oven to 400°F. Prick potatoes in several places with fork. Bake 1 hour. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F.
    2. CUT thin slice from top of each potato. Discard tops; scoop out centers into medium bowl, leaving 1/8-inch-thick shells. Beat potatoes with mixer 1 min. Add milk and cream cheese; beat until fluffy. Spoon into shells; top with bacon. Place in shallow baking dish.
    3. BAKE 20 min. or until heated through.

Black Friday 2011

Are you ready? These holiday Target commercials crack me up!

I'm not planning on doing the Black Friday thing but I do want a 9 ft. pre-lit LED Christmas tree at a good price! We'll see...

Rurple

While most people have Brown, Orange, and Butternut Squash colors on their mind these days, I'm digging this super bold color combo and it has absolutely nothing to do with Fall, sorry. Red + Purple are both very loud and dramatic, but when paired together they make a nice couple. {Sounds like some real-life relationships I know!}

Where's YOUR Domino?

Perhaps I've got my mind on my baby pup, Domino. But, lately I've been spotting the king of all decor books more than ever. Domino The Book of Decorating, is already 3 years old and it's still featured on many bloggers' personal photos of their bookcases, bedside tables, and coffee tables. Not only is Domino a comprehensive reference for home styling, but it's also one of the prettiest books to display!

Cupcakes and Cashmere stacks it here:

Brunch at Saks displays it like this:

Habitually Chic showcases it here:

Hi Sugarplum puts a candle on hers:

Made by Girl displays hers with art:

And I have mine here! {on an Expedit bookcase in my living room, hugged by amethyst bookends!}
